Disbursement of guaranteed compensations to Trasta komercbanka customers has been started



Trasta komercbanka, the joint stock company under liquidation, has started the disbursement of guaranteed compensation up to EUR 100,000 to all customers of the bank, both private and legal persons, either residents or non-residents.

In accordance with the decision of the Financial and Capital Market Commission, from March 16, 2016, the bank’ customers may submit applications for the payment of guaranteed compensation via the internet banking system or at the bank’s branches in Riga, Daugavpils, Liepaja, and in Cyprus – Nicosia during their working time.

In the first two days more than 600 applications were received mainly via the internet banking system (over 400), and more than 120 people applied for their compensation at the branches.

The payment of the guaranteed compensation per depositor will be made as a lump sum payment by single transfer to an account with another bank indicated by the depositor. No cash payments of compensation will be made. Before a payment of the guaranteed compensation, AML (anti-money laundering) checks will be applied once again to the cases identified by the bank.

We would like to remind the customers that they will have the right to apply for the state guaranteed compensation until 2021. 

Those customers whose deposit amounts exceed EUR 100,000 may submit their claims starting from March 17, 2016 by appearing in person at the bank in Riga, Palasta Street 1, or electronically (ilmars.krums@smpa.lv) through a secure electronic signature or by post to the following address: Miesnieku Street 9, Riga, Latvia, LV 1050.
